Animal Welfare Party is set to host an ‘Animal Friendly Easter’ Fundraising Dinner at The Coach & Horses, Soho on Wednesday 1st April.
After a successful EU Election fundraiser at the venue in 2014, AWP will return in a bid to raise final funds for the party’s General Election Campaign, one week ahead of the General Election nominations deadline in which parties must put down a £500 deposit for each constituency they wish to contest.
Activities will begin with a 3 course vegan meal, before moving on to entertainment, an animal-friendly raffle and auction and an Easter Bonnet Competition – the winner of which is in store for a fabulous vegan-friendly prize. The event is sponsored by the Coach and Horses, Soho, London’s first vegetarian pub with prizes donated by animal-friendly brands.
Tickets cost £30 and include a 3 course vegan dinner and entertainment.
Said Vanessa Hudson, Animal Welfare Party’s Leader, “Easter is a time when many animal lovers and environmentalists can come to feel quite despondent at the inconsistencies in our attitude to animals and nature. While on the one hand we may appear to celebrate new life, sending cards with chicks hatching and lambs gambling in fields, on the other hand, many of us will also dine out on meat, fish and dairy and consume large amounts of milk chocolate – neither of which is good for human health, animal welfare or the environment. We hope our event will go some way towards demonstrating that there are healthier, more compassionate and sustainable ways of celebrating at Easter – without missing out on any of the fun.”
All proceeds from the event will go towards Animal Welfare Party’s 2015 General Election Campaign.
